The neurothesiometer is a device used for the determination of the vibration sensitivity threshold at locations at the body surface. Regular recordings of vibration perception thresholds (VPT) in a particular patient, provides quantitative results for monitoring progress of peripheral neuropathy caused by diabetes and other diseases such as leprosy.
